Prescott Watson is a founding employee and is currently Director of Special Projects at OurCrowd, the world’s leading equity crowdfunding platform and Israel’s most active venture investor. OurCrowd has invested over $200M in its 93 portfolio companies since launching in February 2013. KPMG named OurCrowd the world’s 10th most innovative fintech company in 2015. Bloomberg Businessweek said that OurCrowd “has blown up the exclusivity around tech fundraising”, with TheStreet.com calling OurCrowd “Crowdfunding for Real Investors.”
In his role as an associate on the investment team, Prescott’s focus is enterprise software, cybersecurity, telecom, network infrastructure and semiconductors. Outside of the investment team, Prescott’s projects cover fintech, crowdfunding, venture finance regulation, and the Israeli startup ecosystem. Prescott also oversees OurCrowd’s cooperation with academic researchers.
Prescott was formerly OurCrowd’s head of product, helping to build and refine the first generation of OurCrowd’s online investment platform. He joined OurCrowd as its first employee, moving from the US to Israel in 2012. He was formerly a photojournalist covering the University of California and higher education, energy and agriculture. He has a degree in Economics with a focus on Latin America from the UC-Santa Cruz.
