With a 20 year career as a trader and broker of exchange traded interest rate, index and energy derivatives behind him, Paul co-founded Quantave in late 2014. Having just closed a seed investment round, Quantave is developing connectivity, data and post-trade settlement solutions to enable professional access the digital currency exchange ecosystem.
Paul’s curiosity in Bitcoin began in 2011. In 2012 he then established the Coinscrum meetup group which has since become one of the largest bitcoin and block chain related networking groups of its kind in the world. In that time, Coinscrum has hosted many of the most prominent actors in the space and provided a platform for many of the key innovators to showcase their products.
In early 2014, Paul also helped establish the UK Digital Currency Association, a trade body that played a key role in influencing HMRC’s pragmatic approach to the tax treatment of digital currencies in the UK as well as well as undertaking early engagement with HM Treasury and the FCA on the subject matter.
